Won't you meet our neighbors...

When your place of business is located in a small shopping center, you start to get to know the other businesses around you. The people who work tirelessly each day to provide the best of what they do. Your neighbors, so to speak.  And in the case of our neighbors, so often we see the unspoken efforts, extra care with customers and relationships they have formed over the years.
So we'd like to introduce you to them.

We're excited to highlight each business one by one, and encourage you to take a peek at their restaurants, services and products. If nothing else, when you come by for class you'll know a bit more about where we eat on occasion, get our hair done, and (though you hardly ever see us wearing them) where our nicest clothes are cleaned and tailored.

Meet Phillip & Tali. Together they established Sushi Central in 2003. Chef Phillip Yi is the former Director & Instructor of the first Sushi Academy in the United States. He is considered to be one of the foremost experts in the Sushi industry.

Sushi Chef Tali came from Israel twelve years ago to attend The Sushi Academy to learn the technique of making Sushi. The creative aspect of making sushi is the reason she fell in love with this culinary art. There's so much more to the art of sushi than simply raw fish. Tali deeply appreciates the history, colors, the size and shape of the sushi, and the order in which you should enjoy it.

They created Sushi Central to share their knowledge, skills and passion for Japanese cuisine. From the moment you begin looking at their menu, it's easy to recognize the carefully designed space for their customers to have a delicious dining experience, but an educational one as well. Unlike many Sushi restaurants, Chefs Tali and Phillip want to get to know you and suggest new fish you may not otherwise order. Many of their customers refer to the restaurant as the "Cheers" of Sushi - it truly is a place where everybody knows you, staff and patrons alike.

In fact, although Sushi Central was featured on "Throw Down with Bobby Flay" on The Food Network they have stayed the same, and remained true to themselves.

The goal is to never intimidate you by their menu or the atmosphere; instead they have created an environment where you are encouraged to make choices you'll find delicious, and to consider new fish you might actually love!

Their intimate and casual restaurant is great for small dinner parties, a night out with friends, date-night, lunch, or take-out. They also cater parties and do private group classes so you too can learn the art of making Sushi.

Many of us at Dynamic You Fitness can personally vouch for the quality of the food, customer service and truly friendly owners and staff. Next time you're considering take-out, or just need a great dinner spot, we encourage you to check out Sushi Central.

If you've ever worn professional clothing every day you go to work, found the perfect shirt that fits you like a glove, or for that matter the perfect pair of pants you can't have creased incorrectly or shrink in size, attended a wedding, been a member of the wedding party, or been the one saying 'I do' then you've likely made a trip (or many) to the dry cleaner.

There are some pieces of clothing too difficult to press, others have an impossible stain, and there are some parts of your wardrobe so special only the finest care will do.

You pull into the parking spot closest to the door, grab what
you've brought and run inside (usually rushing - in just as nice of clothes - off to work or an event where statistically you'll find yourself in a situation which leads you back to the dry cleaner for more items to be cleaned) trusting in three to five days they'll be good as new.

While Overland Cleaners will certainly have your items looking 'good as new' in three to five days, give or take, there's so much more to the story.
After moving to the United States in 1995 with a degree in fashion design Angela, the owner of Overland Cleaners, opened her first dry cleaning location. Then in April 2004 she opened the Overland Avenue cleaners location to continue putting her knowledge and love of fashion to good use. For over 20 years she, and her staff, have meticulously cared for and repaired clothing with the finest attention to detail. She feels even the smallest inspection of clothing can make a difference in the quality. She knows many of the clothes her customers bring to her each day are cherished items, and more than just textile they are an important part of a memory.

Like nail salons, you'll find a dry clean location on almost every corner in Los Angeles. What sets Overland Cleaners apart is their distinguished customer service and genuine interest in knowing the people who arrive with clothing to be cleaned, pressed, tailored and preserved. They will learn your name, ask you how you are (and truly care about your response) and if you share with them an upcoming event, vacation you plan to take or why a certain item is special they'll always follow up later to ask more.

They've spent almost a decade building the trust of their customers, and we even see the staff helping many of them to their cars on a regular basis - it's as though they know you're in a hurry.  But the minute you arrive home, and remove the carefully placed plastic wrapping, you'll see they were in no rush at all to bring your clothing back to 'good as new' or maybe even better than that.

We know what you're thinking. Let me get this straight. You want us to workout - at least three or four days a week, and to eat healthy, and you're telling us about pizza?
Yep.
There's two reasons. One, we know you like pizza and you want to eat it. We love pizza too. And two, we really like Lenzini's. Not just their pizza - though it is truly delicious - but also the people who work there each day.

You have a LOT of choices when it comes to pizza establishments, so we want to take a moment to highlight this particular pizzeria. Lenzini's 241 Pizza (otherwise known as 2 for 1) was established prior to current owner, Ali, taking over in August 1994. In fact, Lenzini's is the longest running business in our shopping center - an accomplishment indeed.
After moving to the United States from Iran in 1989, he began studying the art of pizza making under his cousin. He knew instantly he loved to make pizza and share one of his favorite foods with people. Even though it's fast, easy and tastes good he feels strongly there's a distinctive craft and important element of creativity that goes into each individually made pie.

His favorite pizza to make is Pepperoni Mushroom, but says by far the most popular pizza for his customers is Pepperoni and Sausage. What makes Lenzini's Pizza so good is the fresh ingredients. Every single ingredient is made in-house - like their handmade dough and sauce - or is fresh from a farm. Nothing you're getting on your pizza is ever from a can. Even the spices are blended by hand by the staff.
And when they're ready, into the oven they go.

While the customer service is top-notch and the quality is superb, you're still getting a great price. If you've ever taken a Dynamic You Fitness class on a Monday night you're familiar with the amazing deal - 3 for 1. And almost every single pizza on the menu is part of this deal. It is, in case you were ever curious, the reason our group fitness studio is often filled with the tempting aroma as the oven heats up in the late afternoon. A little bit of sweat and AC and it dissipates quickly, but it sure does give you some motivation for working hard!

If your house is a revolving door of pizza delivery, you've probably gotten to know the people who arrive at your door, boxes in hand. We're not necessarily encouraging that kind of frequency with what should be considered a treat food. But it's great to know Lenzini's Pizza has some of the most friendly staff and delivery people we've ever met. And while take-out and delivery may seem obvious, know they're also great at catering big group events and parties (for schools and families). And if you thought Super Bowl Sunday was their busiest day of the year, you might enjoy this little piece of trivia - it's actually Halloween.

We encourage you to get to know them and to try their pizza. If you haven't yet ordered from Lenzini's Pizza we're telling you it's time.
We won't even say anything as you walk away with your selections, promise.  As Ali would say "Eat some pizza! Life is too short!!"
And there's a reason we all know it's good - we've selected our favorite toppings and taken advantage of the 3 for 1 deal too.
So we're good with it. As long as we see you tomorrow for class, that is.
