No, you don't.
You might be surprised we'd say this. But, we live in one of the best places to exercise. And rarely is the excuse of weather at play.
There are hundreds of options out there. You shouldn't join a gym because you think there's no other way to stay active.
Whether it's running stairs (or climbing them slowly), hiking, swimming, paddle boarding, or biking you can do any of it without a monthly fee. The great outdoors does not offer memberships.
That being said, just having a membership does not a workout make. You have to truly commitment to taking advantage of what is offered at the gym you join.

With all the advice out there these days - whether in the form of Facebook posts, articles in magazines, DVDs and more - you can create a workout anywhere. A really intense, calorie-burning workout. And it's so important to be aware of these choices. Because even if do you belong to a gym, you still might need to know how to grab a workout if, say, you're traveling or away from home for other reasons.
All the options out there are really good ones. Sometimes though, it's not something to do or equipment we're lacking. It's the motivation.
It's this reason, and what we work so hard to accomplish for our clients, that we're happy to be here for those looking for a place to workout. Not that we're a gym.

As one of our beloved instructors often says "you come to class to do what you would otherwise choose not to do on your own"
You definitely shouldn't join a fitness studio - even ours - because it sounds good. Or just because your friends are doing it (though a workout buddy is always a bonus.) You must commitment to daily activity, challenging your body and wanting a healthier lifestyle for yourself.
And your health deserves to be taken seriously.

If you are doing some research on the gyms out there, do your homework. Find a place you'll feel comfortable, where you will learn something new each time you exercise. And if you get that membership, do more than simply show up. Challenge yourself, engage in conversation with your instructors to get the most out of your time spent sweating.
That's why we love our clients. It's why we work so hard to create a comfortable environment where all fitness levels are welcome and you're going to be challenged.
