Get Ready: 2 of the most exciting minutes in sports

Held annually in Louisville, Kentucky, this annual Grade 1 states race for three-year-old Thoroughbreds is likely just as well-known for Mint Juleps and ladies' hats.

Impressively, it's been run every year consecutively since 1875. But it's the tradition of celebrating the race with food, drinks and friends that gives us a reason to chat about it. We want to throw in a few ideas for slightly healthier recipes should you be making plans to host your own celebration.

Let's start with Mint Julep's.
The Early Times Mint Julep Recipe
2 cups of sugar
2 cups water
Sprigs of fresh mint
Crushed ice
Early Times Kentucky Whisky (notice they don't give a suggested amount)
Silver Julep Cups
