Motivation Monday

If you're like us, there are things that scare you, intimidate you, and just the idea of something unfamiliar keeps you from trying.
Some of us, we won't say who, are not a fan of roller coasters.

Roller coasters (usually) either thrill or terrify. But while a familiar example, they aren't so different from just about anything.

Getting active and healthy, especially if you haven't made that (and by 'that' we mean yourself) a priority, can be scary. Terrifying in fact. And so often the excuses are many.

There's a captivating book by Jeff Olson called The Slight Edge and his message can be summed up by this...

He basically says if you don't do something today (and for this conversation we'll say get a workout in) it won't matter. No one will notice. Your jeans won't suddenly be too tight.
It's about what you do day after day after day.
So skipping your workout in favor of happy hour once in awhile isn't all that big of a deal.
Actually we can support that. Happy Hour makes just about all of us happy.
But doing your best to make it to your fitness class most days of the week, even if it's uncomfortable, scary or terrifying, is what makes the difference. Even if you're not totally ready for it.
