Take a walk

Full disclosure - we should have probably told you this yesterday. If you're already at work this morning it's too late to walk there. If you drove to work, you can't very well walk home.

But though today is National Walk To Work Day, it doesn't mean you can't walk to work other days. In fact the American Heart Association declared April 3rd as National Walking Day so it can be whatever day you want!

Did you know the unfortunate side effect of becoming more inactive as a nation (which all statistics show is happening) is that inactivity doubles the risk of developing Heart Disease? The good news is the solution is really easy. Adding just 30 minutes of walking a day to your life can totally change the way you feel and look, not to mention lower your risk for developing health problems.

Take advantage of the great resources The American Heart Association provides with their Start Walking Now program. There's also a really helpful activity tracker that calculates the number of steps you take, which is a great way to know whether you've hit your 10,000 steps in one day (the recommended daily amount!)

But just so you know

Happy Friday - you made it!
